The Divine Mercy of Jesus

Being ill has an advantage - you have to stay at home and you must not do housework. This opportunity I used for cross-stitching. The aim for this summer is finishing the picture of the Divine Mercy of Jesus. Wish me luck and enough time for work!

Animals family

After sending family of monkeys and giraffe to Brazil I plan to prepare two monkeys for other friend's daughters and lion for her son. I introduce you two sisters of Monkeys:

The hat

My old one crotched hat was bought. I liked it a lot, but after few years of using it lost its shape. I try to find instruction how make the one. Finally a got a magazine with handmade works and with instruction for hook crochet hat. Do you like the colours?

I have started this fancy work 10 years ago. Then I have very long brake and continue it last spring.
I will share with you my work step by step.

The giraffe

The last participant, who got a ticket to Brazil is Giraffe. Sharon's blog was very helpful again.

Whole Monkey's family and their friend - Giraffe are ready to travel.

Monkey's family

The first Monkey is not alone any more. Now he has a small friend.

These two Monkeys need a girl as a pen. In this way monkeys by monkeys I make a whole family: Mum, Daddy and a baby. Have any proposition for their names?

For making all of them I used Sharon's Ojala blog.

A Little Monkey

Little monkey, which I have done after visiting Sharon's Ojala blog. It was my inspiration for preparing some gifts for my friend's children. I hope to be ready with my work in July and send it to them before their birthday in August. They live far far away from me... :)The first Monkey is already ready.
 

Easter

Easter is passed almost two month ago... but it doesn't matter. I made Easter hen for keeping eggs warm. 

A green cardigan I made last spring, but I didn't have enough time for putting the photos here. It is really great thing, I can put it on in next summer :)

My last holiday was very fruitful in sewing. I would like present you my new dress. This beautiful white fabrics with small blue flowers a got from my mother in law several years ago, but I have a big problem with finding a good pattern. Eventually I found it in the Internet. I had to print it myself and then combine all 26 sheets of paper. Later, I cut it correctly and carefully. At the end I could put great pattern on fabrics, draw, cut and finally sew. It was the fastest made dress in my life. It took me only three days! Don't you think is it beautiful?

For friend

My friend asked me for sewing a blouse for very young scout. It was not so easy, because I didn't have a pattern. I had to combine the couple patterns:

 

 And then I sewed it together :)

Like my Mom

When I was a little girl I listened to story how my mother has been embroidering initials on linen. I always wanted to do the same for my family. Can you guess which pillowcase is mine, and which one belongs to my husband?

Today I would like to show you other kind of my handwork. This time it is doily made from colourful cotton. As you can see, I made the doily using a crochet-hook. Although spring is outside I have done them as the autumn leaves.

This costume I made for myself. The fabrics I got from my aunt Maria. It is a very good sort of fabrics. When I was in Scotland last June I didn't see so beautiful fabrics in plaid. Thank you, my dear aunty!
